What is the Sales Funnel?

A marketing funnel is not an actual funnel. In this case using the term funnel is to visual and describe the process of selling from beginning to its end. Since it has a broad entry way for potential customers "Unqualified prospects" at the top and an even smaller opening to convert sales at the bottom the funnel can be a precise comparison.

These are what we call "unqualified prospects" at the top or entry of the funnel. They are people who might need your products and services, but have not been approached by you prior to. You'll have many offers and sales activities later and you'll have people who have purchased your product or service.

A lead generation funnel's effectiveness is also due to the capability to monitor the activities of your customers at various stages of the sales process. Using the sales funnel, by finding out the number of prospects who are qualified throughout the process, it's possible to predict the amount of potential customers that will, after a while, become actual customers.

The sales funnel lets you to identify where your sales process is failing and succeeding. It also helps you determine if your campaign isn't reaching enough customers. This will help you to decide which areas to concentrate your efforts and help you reach your goals in marketing. It is used to monitor and control the customers sales process.

The Front- End or Sales Funnel Top

Your sales funnel's top is the most active and important area in your sales process. It requires constant testing. There is no limit of front-end concepts. Your imagination and your resources are your only limits.

The primary goal is to get new customers and then convert them into buyers.

Once a prospective client decides to sign up for your offer, they become "qualified". This is when the prospective customer, or "Unqualified Prospect" is now a qualified lead. They've taken a step that shows that they may be interested in the product or service you offer.

To make your front-end effective you must be able to drive targeted traffic to your site, blog, or squeeze page. PPC adverts articles, banners, article marketing, PPC advertisements, social media (Google+ Twitter Facebook YouTube), YouTube banners, blog posts forums, and many other sources are among the most effective techniques and resources.

There are a variety of ways to "qualify" an "unqualified potential customer. One of the best methods to determine the quality of prospects is to create a squeeze page. It allows you to provide something valuable to your product which users can receive for free, or at a significantly lower cost, in exchange for their name and email. There are many products available, including newsletters, videos, emails, courses, eBooks, and related reports.

So we see that the front-end of your sales funnel is where folks are drawn to your sales funnel. Now what about the back-end?

The End of the Funnel, or The Back-End

The back-end (or the bottom) of the sales channel is where the bulk of profits and sales occur. It is also where you'll discover the more expensive products. They all belong to the same subject, but in a different format such as video, audio or live interaction.

The major difference between the front and back-ends is in the type of client and the price of the product/service being provided.

Although it's the case that a small percentage of people will enter your front -end, only 1-2% will actually be able to make it into your back-end. Because a few people will spend more money, it's okay.

It is evident that, although front-end products and services can be priced at less than $100, back-end items and services are typically priced in the 100s or 1000's. This makes the bottom of the sales funnel, or the back-end, the primary source for revenue for your Internet company. It's also the most reliable and secure area of the sales process.

As I mentioned in the past, the sales funnel is as flexible as your imagination and resources allow.
