Meet Devesh Sharma from WPKube.com

Many of us focus our efforts on creating authority pages in the WordPress and Blogging niche. While it’s an excellent topic and niche, it’s pretty saturated too.

Ultimately, you need high quality content that other bloggers can relate to, find value, and share with others in order to build a successful website in this market.

That is exactly what Devesh was able to do with his blog on WPKube.com, which is currently among the 50,000 best sites on Alexa. The website is full of great resources and articles on how to improve your blogging experience.

1.) Please tell us something about yourself and how you got into blogging.

My name is Devesh Sharma and I run a very popular WordPress blog called WordPress Kube. I started blogging when I was 15. I liked the idea of working from home and living the internet lifestyle.

My first blog was Technshare, which I later sold for 4 digits.

2.) What is the main focus of your blog and why did you choose this niche?

The main focus of my blog is to help beginners and advanced WordPress users. WP Kube is a blog about everything WordPress related with an emphasis on themes, plugins, tutorials and modifications. I also write on the latest WordPress news and discuss current WordPress topics.

I started blogging with Technshare in 2009 and WordPress was a topic I blogged about a lot on the website. So starting a website for WordPress was a natural evolution.

3.) How are you currently monetizing your blog traffic?

I tired AdSense the first time I started WPKube, but it didn’t work out well. I am currently using Affiliate Marketing and Paid Ads (BSA) to monetize traffic. I also do a decent amount with freelancing.

4.) What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started blogging?

  • The importance of building relationships with other bloggers.
  • Blogging is not just about making money or generating traffic.
  • Running too many blogs is not an easy process. one should always concentrate on one project.

5.) Which three blogs do you visit almost every day?

  • KaiserTheSage
  • Leave the work behind
  • Blogging tips

6.) Can you give us three recommended tools / services that you use for your blogging?

  • GeeTeeDee to manage the daily ToDo tasks
  • Genesis theme
  • GetResponse for list creation

7.) What advice would you have for someone just starting their first blog?

I see people get upset about blogging and do anything to make money, but what they don’t understand is that it takes a lot of hard work and patience.

If all you want to do is blog to make money, you probably shouldn’t. It’s a slow process and takes a long time to complete.

8.) What is the best advice or tip you have come across since starting blogging?

If you want to build a successful site, always focus on it and focus all of your efforts on one project at a time.

9.) If you only had $ 100 to start a new blog, how would you use it?

I would spend on a couple of things:
– Domain name & hosting
– A premium WordPress theme (ElegantThemes or StudioPress)
– Autoreponsder service (Aweber and Getresponse, Mailchimp)

10.) How can readers of the blog get in touch with you?

My blog – WordPress Kube
Twitter – @wpkube
